William Jackson is a multi-instrumentalist, composer and music therapist originally from Glasgow and now based in Mayo Abbey, Claremorris. He trained as a music therapist at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London (1993), and specialises in working with children with cerebral palsy and autism spectrum disorder. He is a member of the British Association of Music Therapy and registered with the Health Professions Council (in the UK as no equivalent body currently exists in Ireland). He has worked extensively in this field in both the UK and the USA, including holding a position at Mission Hospital in Asheville North Carolina (1998 – 2009) and is currently employed part-time at Cregg House, Sligo and St. Cecelia’s School, Sligo. William hosts both individual and group music therapy sessions.
