Tríona Marshall, from Portlaoise, began the harp at a young age. Her initial training as a classical harpist culminated in the post of principal harpist with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra. In 2003 she was invited as guest harpist with the Chieftains, and has since performed and toured with them worldwide. She can be heard on four of their platinum selling albums and has collaborated with artists including Paolo Nutini, Sinéad O’Connor, Ry Cooder and James Galway. Tríona has two critically acclaimed solo harp albums with guests Martin Hayes, Tim Edey and Seamas Begley and a duo record with singer Alyth McCormack. She has performed solo with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, Asunción Symphony Orchestra, Paraguay, World Harp Congress and The Edinburgh International Harp Festival. Her performances are renowned for their depth, virtuosity and flair and have been hailed by critics as both sensitive and revelatory.
