Toner Quinn

Toner Quinn is a fiddle-player, writer on music and Editor of online magazine, The Journal of Music. In 2014 he was commissioned by The Arts Council to undertake research into the harping tradition in Ireland. His report, published in January 2016, is a comprehensive overview of current harping and continues to inform Council policy in this area. Toner was also Project Officer for the Special Committee on the Traditional Arts which produced the report Towards a Policy for the Traditional Arts. A graduate of WIT and the University of Stirling, Scotland, Toner is a lecturer in publishing and editing on the MA in Literature and Publishing at NUI Galway. He has released one album, Live at the Steeple Sessions, a fiddle duet with Malachy Bourke that was selected as one of The Irish Times traditional music albums of the year in 2013.
