Tola Custy

Tola Custy is a fiddle player and prolific composer from a well-known musical family in Co. Clare. His early influences include legendary musicians such as Kevin Burke and Jacky Molard. Tola has created a sound of his own whilst remaining sympathetic to Irish traditional music. Travel has exposed him to Breton, Galician and Asturian styles which inform the spirit-tingling sounds he is renowned for composing.

Tola released his acclaimed solo album ‘Setting Free’ in 1993 and went on to form influential groups Calico, The Bowhouse Quintet, Guidewires and Tradivarious.

He has presented many popular Irish TV music progammmes including Fleadh TV and Geantraí.

Tola is a regular mentor to MA and BA students at the University of Limerick, and is a much sought after tutor at festivals worldwide.
