Martin Brunsden is a well known double bass player who also plays harp and singing saw. Over the last twenty-five years he has worked with artists, musicians, poets, sculptors and theatre companies as well as touring and recording.
The partnership of Nico and Martin began at The Ark in Dublin in 1995 and they soon toured their participatory style of family fun and endearingly chaotic music and mischief making worldwide. They have made two albums together: the collection of original songs for children, Out of the Door of the Ark (2007) and the collection of lullabies, Owl Music (2016).
Between them, Nico and Martin have collaborated with many amazing artists including P.J.Harvey, Toumani Diabate, Baaba Maal, Hothouse Flowers, Steve Cooney, Pentangle, Danny Thompson, Jacqui Dankworth, Kíla, Solas, Hugh Grant, Julia Roberts, Morgan Freeman, Goitse, Ronnie Scott and Sinéad O’Connor.
