Iomramh an Chamino – The Camino Voyage

A crew including a writer, two musicians, an artist and a stonemason embark on the Camino by sea, in a Naomhóg (a traditional West Kerry curragh) that they built themselves on an inspiring, and dangerous 2,500 km modern day Celtic odyssey all the way from Ireland to Northern Spain. Documented by Dónal Ó Céilleachair, the crew included artist Liam Holden, musician Breanndán Ó Beaglaoich, stonemason & folkloristBreandán Pháid Ó Muircheartaigh, Oscar-winning singer-songwriter Glen Hansard and the prize-winning storyteller & poet Danny Sheehy (Domhnall Mac Síthigh), who tragically lost his life when the Naomhóg overturned in 2017. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.

Scríbhneoir, beirt cheoltóirí, ealaíontóir agus saor cloiche a bhí sa chriú a chuaigh ar oilithreacht an Camino thar an bhfarraige, i naomhóg (currach dúchasach ó iarthar Chiarraí) a thógadar féin. Ba ar nós odaisé Cheilteach na linne seo a bhí san aistear 2,500 ciliméadar seo, an bealach ar fad ó Éirinn go Tuaisceart na Spáinne. Rinne Dónal Ó Céilleachair, an turas a thaifeadadh. Ar an gcriú bhí an t-ealaíontóir, Liam Holden, an ceoltóir, Breanndán Ó Beaglaoich, an saor cloiche agus béaloideasóir, Breandán Pháid Ó Muircheartaigh, an t-amhránaí-scríbhneoir amhrán, a bhfuil Oscar buaite aige, Glen Hansard, agus an scéalaí agus file sár-aitheanta, Domhnall Mac Síthigh, a cailleadh go tragóideach nuair a d’iompaigh an naomhóg béal faoi in 2017. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.
